Don’t want to feel like a COW!

Hello everyone, so the office I work at does not seem to be helping me any with my weight and eating issues. They have this system where any time there is a birthday someone gets a cake for them and then we rotate out. Therefore I sear we have a different cake almost every other week and they seem to last for days…so every time I go get my lunch the stupid cake laughs at me and says “You know you want some of this buttercream sweetness”! And, every couple of months we have potlucks! Like today! There is soooo much food. And you know how people can be social smokers or social drinkers? I think I am a social eater…I do so good on my own. But, if someone else is eating it and says it’s good, it seems like I have to eat it to. I know I don’t have to..but I feel compelled to. I am really going to try to be good today. Last time we had a potluck, everyone just ate all day, like cows grazing..going back and forth..back and forth to the food tables. So, I don’t want to feel like a cow today! I will let y’all know how it goes. Y’all want to know what the absolute most awesome part of my day today will be???!!! My boss arranged for us to have each get a chair massage!!!! YES!!!! It will be AMAZING! Can you tell I haven’t had a massage in a long time? Well, I can’t wait for that! Ahh the gym, how my butt needed you so!

This week I decided to start exercising again. I went to the gym Monday night and last night! Whoosh! Talk about being out of shape. Now I know how the people on Biggest Loser feel on their first “Last Chance Workout”, when you see them puking everywhere and coughing..well that was about me last night after attempting to run on the treadmill. I ran my little heart out til I almost tossed my cookies! I gave it 110%! I might be sore today, but it was soooo worth it! Then I got on the recumbent bike and pedaled, pedaled, pedaled! Though, I didn’t eat the healthiest last night, but baby steps, baby steps. I’m a work in progress, but I am determined to get this weight off. I didn’t have my smoothie this morning, but I find it fascinating that I have only been doing green smoothies a little over a week and already having withdrawls! They are soooo good! The best start to my day! But, I kept hitting the snooze this morning. Well, I am going over to my friends house tonight to play some cards. I’m pretty excited because I have convinced her to go walking with me around her neighborhood before we eat dinner! So it will be nice to have an exercise partner tonight! Is it 5 o’ clock yet? 🙂

Title Change!

So I decided to change the title to this blog to something a little bit more personal. What the heck are skinny jeans? Apparently they are huge in fashion, but I know I have never been able wear a pair! Can fat girls even wear skinny jeans..wouldn’t that be an oximoron? Just food for thought.

Back to the gym I finally go…about time!

Hello, it seems it’s already been a week since I have put a new post on here. That’s probably because I am so disappointed in myself for being lazy and eating lazy. All last week I didn’t go to the gym or do any kind of exercise and I ate really bad for me food. It seems like I always do so much better at losing weight when I have a plan. My problem is on Wed and Thurs I go over to a friends after work, and I always seem to just stop by whichever fast food place is closer, Sonic, McDonald’s..ugh. I really don’t even like McDonald’s anymore..but it just seems easier and more convenient.

I have done better starting this week. When I cook, I eat healthier.  Last night I grilled some turkey breast, had steamed broccoli and cheese and some green beans. And, last night I went to the gym. It felt really good, yet embarrassing at the same time. When I got on the riding bicycle it was squeaking really loudly! I just felt like the guys on the machines behind me probably were going, “Yeah, that squeaking noise is the fat girl on the bicycle”. Well, I got off that one and moved to a different recumbent bike and it didn’t make any noise at all so that helped. But, I can definitely tell I am way freaking out of shape!

And, of course mother nature has just made me feel like an even fatter blob today. I fighting the blob by drinking a lot of water, that seems to help me feel better. I am thinking if I leave straight from work over to my friends, we could have enough time to walk around her neighborhood, and if I bring stuff to contribute maybe we could just cook dinner over there. She’s a way better cook than me. In fact I think her homemade chili sounds yummy!

Who knew green could be this good?

Hello everyone! It is a rainy dreary day here in Little Rock, but in my world its a sunny tropical kind of day! I made my first green smoothie! It is so yummy. It really is true that I can’t even taste the spinach I put in it. My husband thought I had lost my mind and I still haven’t been able to convince him to try it. I made a yummy mango, pineapple, banana, spinach smoothie. So tropical..I hear the palm trees swaying. This is the beginning of a new habit hopefully. Of course it isn’t as velvety smooth as if it was in a vitamix, but it’s still pretty good. I will get a vitamix one day! My husband and I went grocery shopping at Walmart and as we went down theaisles I would say, “I can make that with a Vitamix”. When he picked up his $8.00 icecream, I yet again said, “You know I could make that with a Vitamix to and I bet it wouldn’t cost nearly as much as $8.00”. Then I was on the hunt for hummus. For anybody looking the hummus at our Walmart is over by the deli section where they keep their deli pizzas. Yet again, I told my husband the vitamix can make hummus to! I think he may be getting tired of hearing about the Vitamix, but I think my life would be a lot easier if I had one! 🙂 You think he gets the hint of what I want for Christmas? Well, back to my green smoothie..oh how I love the way you taste! You will be my breakfast from now on! You helped me say no to the evil doughnuts in the break room! Here is to the first step to a new good habit and to losing weight!

This is so not Fair…

The state fair was here and my husband really wanted to go. So on Saturday we decided we had the money to go ahead and go. The fair was one of our first dates when we were in high school..so it’s kind of special to us. He had a great time riding the rides. I love to ride the different rides at the fair, but this year brought me to a new startling realization..I am almost too fat to ride these things! I barely got in them all. One of them..my favorite one, I didn’t have the leg strength to even hop up in the seat. My husband had to help lift me up. Then it squished the heck out of my thighs! I tried to have fun, but in the back of my mind I was so embarrassed and hurting from my legs and boobs being squished. What happened?! Then of course 85% of the food at the fair is fried. They had stuff I didn’t even know you could fry or even want to fry? Fried snickers, fried oreos, fried peanut butter and jelly banana sandwiches, fried dough, fried coke, fried everything! So I ate one of the only non fried foods I like at the fair..the classic smoked turkey leg. But before we left I did cave in and have a funnel cake. I tried to justify that it only comes once a year, but it still proves to me that I have no self-control when it comes to food. I really think I am a food addict. Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed about my weight.

 I have been doing a lot of research on the internet and I really want to start drinking smoothies for breakfast and lunch, especially green smoothies. I am just worried though because I have a crappy blender, and I am afraid the texture will be awful. I am trying to save up or find a way to be able to get a vitamix, but that dream has been put on hold due to lack of money right now. So, I guess we will see what this Oster thing can do. Anyone own one of these, have any tips? Or what brand of blender do you use for your smoothies? Or if you have any scrumptious recipes? Please feel free to share them with me. I have to do something! I do not want this weight anymore! Thanks, Charity
