So, I’m at work and had to go drop off the mail. The mail room is on the second floor and our office is on the third floor. I never..I repeat NEVER take the stairs. I always just hop on the elevator. Um, shouldn’t this be my first clue why I’m so overweight…that’s pretty lazy. Yes, I’m being completely honest with myself now. No more lies to try to make me feel better… Well, I took the mail down and looked at the stairs and decided I’d start today taking the stairs up. I mean, it’s just one level right?
Um, yeah, I was kind of depressed when I finally got to the top. I couldn’t just run up them. I had to take them slowly and then was semi-out of breath when I got to the third floor. Really?! I’m that fat and out of shape, I can’t make one flight of stairs without being out of breath? So, I was depressed for about a minute. When I then realized, um, hey at least I took the stairs.
Now, I have a goal, a small goal but to take the stairs instead of the elevator every day. And, hopefully soon I won’t be out of breath when I reach the top. I’ve also been walking on my lunch break and decided to take the stairs to where I go to do that as well. I’m normally tired after walking and just take the elevator then to…but not anymore. I figure that should be a daily calorie deficit just by taking the stairs.
Well, this is my smack in the face, reality check, yet actually a small victory moment for today. 🙂 And my motivational poster for today:
I hope y’all enjoy. Have a great evening! ~Charity 🙂
